Euro 2008 Qualifiers: Germany's through

Because of the Rugby World Cup I didn't really bother about Germany's qualifiying match against Ireland. They played a rather ugly 0-0 draw, which is what I read. So with still three games to go they are the first team to qualify for the Euro 2008 which is pretty impressive. With this Germany are surely one of the top favourites for the title next year. And If one keeps in mind that they were playing without some of their regular players for the last few matches than their achievement becomes even more impressive.
England seem to be back on track, too, after beating estonia 3-0 at Wembley. The biggest surprise came from Scotland where the home team beat Ukraine 3-1 and with this keeping the top position in their group, with Italy and France in 2nd and 3rd place.
The Netherlands seem to have problems losing their match to Romania 0-1. They are now in 2nd place only 2 points in front of Bulgaria.
In the other groups the race is not done as well. Poland, Portugal, Greece, Turkey, Croatia, Sweden and Spain are all wel on their way to Austria and Switzerland, but they are all not through yet.

Elsewhere the qualification rounds for the 2010 World Cup started already. In Bogota Columbia and Brazil played a goalless draw which can be considered quite a surprise.
